PELLET BURNING STOVES
Another fuel type to consider is pellets. Wood pellets have become popular because they are environmentally friendly and clean burning. Pellets can be made of soft and hard woods, cardboard and other biomass items. Some pellet stoves are also able to burn shelled corn, switch grass pellets; wheat and sunflower seeds just to name a few. Pellet stoves are very safe to operate, very energy efficient and in some cases will burn and provide heat for one or two days on just one hopper full of pellets. They can be constructed of steel, cast iron and soap stone. Another feature you are sure to love is the thermostat control, very similar to one used by your gas furnace. Just set the desired temperature and the stove will maintain it as long as it has fuel. Finding fuel is also very easy. Due to the increased popularity of the pellet stoves you can find pellets just about anywhere.
